Suitable for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, with model selection based on material size, hardness, and composition.
Break down bulky and dense scrap into smaller pieces, with rotor and screen configurations selected to suit your target output size.
Configure the configuration, screen, and drive power to match your material characteristics and processing requirements.
Choose from smaller-capacity models to high-throughput hammer mills for different production needs.
Hammer mill is a heavy-duty crushing machine that uses a high-speed rotor fitted with hammers to break scrap metal into smaller pieces. In metal recycling, it can process materials such as automotive shells, scrap engines, rotors, and stators, depending on the model and feed size.
By reducing material size and breaking apart connected components, hammer mills prepare scrap for further sorting and metal separation. They are commonly used in medium to large scrap yards and metal dismantling facilities.
High-torque hydraulic motor provides strong crushing power for tough scrap and heavy workloads.
Hydraulic feed inlet and hammer replacement simplify inspection and reduce downtime
Removes oversized material while the hammer mill keeps running, helping protect the chamber and reduce downtime.
One-piece machined bearing housing keeps the main shaft steady and helps prevent loosening under heavy loads.
BSGH offers four main hammer mill recycling machines. The table below compares their key specifications, so you can see differences in processing capacity, machine structure, and wear parts at a glance. Use this comparison to narrow down your options based on your scrap material and production requirements.
Wear-resistant manganese steel hammers and wear plates last longer, reducing replacement costs and maintenance downtime.
Choose screen openings and hammer quantities to suit your material and achieve your target output size.
PLC automation reduces the need for manual adjustments, helping you keep production running steadily.
Reinforced base helps reduce vibration and operating noise, creating a more comfortable working environment.
Add separation equipment to your BSGH hammer mill recycling line to recover metals and remove unwanted materials after crushing. Depending on your scrap and recovery goals, conveyors can link the hammer mill with the following equipment.
Removes iron and steel from shredded scrap, reducing ferrous contamination before further separation.
Removes lightweight materials, such as foam, fluff, and vehicle insulation, from heavier metal pieces.
Sorts shredded material by size, helping improve the efficiency of downstream eddy current separation.
Separates non-ferrous metals, such as aluminum, copper, and brass, from non-metallic materials. Results depend on particle size and material composition.
Start with your scrap and the results you need. We’ll help you choose a hammer mill and separation options that fit your requirements.
Tell us what scrap you process. Send photos or videos, typical and maximum feed dimensions, and details of any attached components so we can assess the material.
Tell us how small you need the crushed material to be and how you plan to use it. We’ll recommend suitable screen openings and crushing settings.
Share your hourly processing target and planned daily operating hours. We’ll help you select a hammer mill that matches your workload and allows for future growth.
Tell us which metals you want to recover and how clean they need to be. We’ll recommend optional separation equipment to you.
Our technical team will review all your the details and then prepare a customized hammer mill recycling line plan and layout drawings for your project.
Welcome to an in-depth look at our hammer mill in action. In this trial run, we tested automatic hammer mill line for our customer Curtis Vandermeer, a scrap metal recycler based in Ohio.
The video shows how the heavy-duty hammer mill breaks down car engines, scrap aluminum, and mixed metal waste into smaller, manageable pieces. In addition, a magnetic separator removes iron, preparing the remaining material for further separation.
It’s a straightforward look at how a well-matched shredding and separation line performs in a real scrap yard—whether you process engines, aluminum profiles, or general scrap metal, this trial shows what the right setup can do for your operation.
BSGH hammer mills process a range of scrap metals and metal assemblies. The right model and feeding setup depend on your material’s size, thickness, and composition.
• Scrap car bodies and appliance shells
• Engine housings and scrap motors
• Aluminum profiles and wheel rims
• Copper-aluminum radiators
• Sheet metal, stamping scrap, and mixed metals

Find out how customers use mature hammer mill machines to process their scrap, meet production needs, and choose configurations that suit their operations.
Machine Model: BS-H2000
“We bought BS-H2000 hammer mill to handle car bodies and mixed scrap. It’s been a good fit for the volume coming into our yard.”
Machine Model: BS-H2500
“We deal with tough scrap, so we needed a equipment built for that kind of work. The heavy-duty BS-H2500 crusher was the right choice for us.”
Machine Model: BS-H1600
“What we appreciated was the practical light-duty BS-1600 machine advice. BSGH explained the configuration and helped us understand what we were buying.”
Yes. We provide installation guides, operating manuals, videos, and remote technical support to help your team set up and run the machine. On-site installation and operator training can also be arranged if needed.
Not always. Large or bulky scrap may benefit from a double-shaft pre-shredder to reduce its size and support steady feeding. Material that suits the hammer mill’s feed opening and crushing capacity may be processed directly. Send us photos and dimensions of your scrap, and we’ll confirm whether pre-shredding is needed.
Hammer heads are the primary wear parts. How often they need to be replaced depends on the material you’re processing and the machine’s operating time. But don’t worry—our manganese steel hammer heads are wear-resistant, which helps reduce replacement costs.
