Most electric bicycles use a hub motor, that is, motor is made into a hub to directly drive rear wheel, thereby reducing cost and improving driving efficiency.


Electric Bicycle Rear Wheel Disassembly Machine Introduction:

There are three types of motors used in electric bicycles:high-efficiency low-speed rare-earth permanent magnet DC brushless motors, high-efficiency low-speed rare-earth permanent magnet DC brushed motors, and high-efficiency high-speed rare-earth permanent magnet DC brushless motors. 

Hub motors are low-speed motors, and high-speed motors are equipped with reducers. Ordinary DC motors use brushes to commutate through mechanical contact with commutator. This is brush motor we mentioned earlier, while brushless motor detects winding through sensors (usually hall magnetic sensors)position, and turn on corresponding power device to supply power to winding through a single chip microcomputer or a dedicated integrated circuit. 

Since this kind of motor has no mechanical contact and wear between brush and commutator, there is no need to frequently replace wearing parts such as brush, thereby increasing life of motor and reducing maintenance cost. This is very important on electric bicycles, because it is very difficult to turn on hub motor on electric bicycles.
